Vase der Welt
Vase der Welt
2024
Museum Mineralogia Munich
Under the title "Vase der Welt" (Vase of the World), the concepts of recycling and the transformation of elements are explored, framed by the philosophical question: "What are we, and what could we be?"
This work allows us to engage with the properties of the Earth and reflect on the invisible and constant changes around us, bridging poetry and science.

The Museum Mineralogia Munich held some minerals that, due to their uncertain origin, could not be archived or exhibited in the collection.
This presented a perfect opportunity to "archive" them in cement stones, much like archaeological finds that incorporate these minerals through sedimentation processes.
The vase, initially conceived for an external function, took an unexpected path, adapting to the internal structures of the museum, much like the vitrines that house the minerals.
The metallic structure evokes the elementary cells of crystalline mineral structures, which repeat in a modular and geometric way.
This modular shape allows it to be divided.
During the exhibition period, "pieces" of the vase will be moved to different locations, including outdoors, or connected to one or more events.
Project funded by the Erwin and Gisela Steiner Foundation and supported by the Museum Mineralogia Munich.

To make possible the engage with the properties of the earth and to reflect on the invisible and constant change around us.
I thought of using synesthesia. Through the concept of the Russian composer Scriabin, who connected Goethe's color circle with 12 notes based precisely on the intensity of the "tones".
I "played" these stones. A thin section of granite with different polarization filters photographed under the microscope.
